If you can have three different standalone versions of IE, then that is always going to be better. Personally I only use IETester for IE6, as IE8 has an IE7 mode which I use for IE7 testing. But overall it’s been useful although it does crash on me quite regularly too... I have Citrix access to IE6, IE8 installed along with the IE7 standalone (Google: IE7 standalone) and they all work fine. I find once it's good in IE7, Firefox and Safari, it's good in general.
