I finally got around to playing about with the <canvas> element of HTML5 and amongst other things I have written a simple bar chart creator and have written about it over at html5laboratory.
All comments welcome.

I’ve altered my already small homesite to run that bit faster by optimising both my JavaScript and CSS files, and also allowing Google to host the jQuery file.

Today I came across Born of Hope which is a prequel to Lord of the Rings, made by fans of the books and film. As a big fan of both I am looking forward to watching this to see how it is, the trailers look quite impressive. The full movie itself is up on the site for viewing so go ahead and let me know what you think.
Born of Hope is a 60 minute Lord of the Rings inspired film being produced in the UK. A low budget production, the entire cast and crew are giving their services for no financial gain. The subject matter and quality has attracted people from around the world to join the team, even gaining support and interest from some of the original New Line Trilogy cast and crew members including Richard Taylor and the Oscar® winning team at Weta Workshop, New Zealand.
You can read more about the movie on the website’s about section.

I received a pleasant surprised this morning to see that the portfolio section of iandevlin.com was featured on 50 inspiring portfolio designs over at Web Design Ledger.
The Web Design Ledger is a publication written by web designers for web designers. The primary purpose of this site is to act as a platform for sharing web design related knowledge and resources. Topics range from design inspiration to tips and tutorials and everything in between.
And here was me thinking of redesigning the website…
Thanks Web Design Ledger!
