I have now registered to begin my first ever course with the Open University. As of the 2nd of October I will once again be a student when I begin AA100 – The arts past and present.

This coming Sunday, 24th January 2010, we will be welcoming a new arrival to come and live with us in the shape of Yogi, the young Border Terrier. Now I have never owned a dog before, yet alone live with one, whereas my girlfriend is dog mad having grown up with Border Terriers and Airedales (her parents currently have one of each).

Yesterday we took delivery of a new bed (Malm) from IKEA and I simply cannot praise their delivery service highly enough.
Ordered online last Sunday, we were told that it would be delivered the following Saturday, the 10th October, and that a day beforehand we would receive a time window when it would be delivered and then a phone call an hour before it turned up. So on Friday a SMS was duly received informing us that they would be there between 10am and 1pm, and at a quarter past 9 on the Saturday morning, they did indeed call to say that they were on their way. They called a few minutes later to ask for directions as they got lost, but the two delivery guys were very polite, helpful and friendly and the whole thing was up in the flat in no time at all.
I then had fun dismantling the old bed and putting this one together (not).
Hats off you to IKEA for such a great service!
